I'm Kellan and I am trans!! I'm getting top surgery sometime in 2025 (still waiting for the phone call to schedule a date)!! But with the American healthcare system and all, it's gonna be a little pricey, even with insurance. And the insurance might deny it anyway, even though I have everything documented and ready to go, meeting all the requirements for a medically necessary surgery. So I'm expecting to need a little back up, just in case. The average cost of top surgery can range anywhere from $6000 to $10000, and between $6500 and $8500 in the state of Ohio, not including the recovery materials like a surgical binder, bandages, and other after-care stuff. I want to be on the safe side and make the goal the $10000, but I'm hoping I won't need that much! Any extra funds raised will go towards covering any time off of work that I can't get covered, and towards paying for my hormones and other medications, mental health support, and any other gender affirming procedures that I may undergo!
