Help Kelechi, a Nigerian Scientist, Study at Canada

Some doors only open once. This is Kelechi's and he needs your help to walk through it.
My name is Ego Felicia Abajue, and I am raising funds for my nephew Kelechi Chinedu Nwabueze — a hardworking Nigerian professional who has just received the opportunity of a lifetime.
Due to the very limited paycheck I receive as a Certified Nursing Assistant and having to provide for my own children and grandchildren, I cannot help my dear nephew overcome this major financial setback to study at Canada.
Kelechi has been admitted to study MSc Medical Biotechnology at the University of Windsor, Ontario, Canada — starting September 2026.
In Nigeria today, an opportunity like this is not just exciting. It is a lifeline.

Despite his seasoned experience, he cannot simply study in Nigeria as it is currently at a major political, security, and economic crisis. Inflation has made everyday life nearly unbearable. The naira has collapsed so badly that CAD $45,000 is the equivalent of tens of millions of naira — an impossible sum to save no matter how hard you work.
Nigeria's universities are plagued by strikes, underfunding, and outdated facilities. There is simply no equivalent biotechnology program in Nigeria that comes close to what the University of Windsor is offering.
Kelechi has done everything right. He worked hard. He studied harder. He built a career with global companies. He earned three degrees. And still — through no fault of his own — a broken economy and apathetic government towards its citizens is standing between him and his future.
That is not fair. And you can help change it.

Kelechi is not a fresh graduate with a dream. He is a proven professional:
  • 10+ years in Nigeria's pharmaceutical and nutrition industry.
  • 7 years with Danone Nutricia — a Fortune 500 global company
  • 3 years as a Senior Medical Sales Representative at CHI Pharmaceutical
  • MBA (GPA 3.91), Master of Leadership Studies & BSc Biochemistry
  • Co-Founder and Operations Manager of his own company
This is a man who has given everything, in one of the hardest economies in the world, where providing for one's family is a constant daily struggle despite being a seasoned professional.

This donation means everything for his family (i.e. my extended family) who Kelechi has been struggling to provide for in a declining economy. As of right now, the standard minimum wage is ₦80,000 per month in Nigeria. That is the equivalent of $60 per month in the United States. This is clearly not even enough to sustain one person in Nigeria or anywhere in the world. Despite Kelechi being a resilient and tenacious individual, this is not a life that anyone or any family should be subject to.

Behind every exam and every late night of studying — there is a family counting on him. This MSc is not just about a degree. It is about breaking a cycle. It is about giving his family a stable future that Nigeria's broken economy has made nearly impossible to build — no matter how hard you work.
When you donate to Kelechi, you are not just funding a degree. You are funding a family's hope.

Here's the tuition and fees breakdown:
CAD $45,000 to cover:
  • Tuition — $25,000 (Per Session)
  • Accommodation — $7,000
  • Living costs — $10,500
  • Travel — $2,500
  • $25 feeds him for a week
  • $100 pays a week of rent
  • $500 covers a full month of living expenses
  • $1,000 makes you a life-changing part of his story

Here's a personal message from Kelechi himself:
"I have spent my entire adult life doing everything right in a country that keeps making it harder to succeed. This admission is the first time I have felt all the sacrifice was worth it.
I am not asking for charity. I am asking for a chance — to build something real for my family and bring world-class skills back to a continent that needs them.
If you have ever believed that hard work should be rewarded — please help me. I will make you proud."
— Kelechi, Lagos, Nigeria
