Hi everyone,
I never imagined I would be in a position where I’d need to ask for help like this, but recent events have left my family and me in a very difficult place.
Just days before Christmas, my car was stolen and used in a robbery. It was later crashed and completely damaged. That vehicle was my only means of transportation and a lifeline for my family. I am a single mother of three, and I don’t have much family support here in Milwaukee.
One of my children is disabled and requires frequent appointments at Children’s Hospital. Without a car, getting him to and from his medical care has become extremely stressful and uncertain. In addition to caring for my children, I am also a caregiver to my elderly grandmother, and my car was my only way to get to her and provide the care and support she depends on.
To make matters worse, my son’s car seat was ruined in the crash and is no longer safe to use.
The car was in my mother’s name, and because of that, I was not allowed to retrieve personal belongings from the vehicle. My children’s Christmas gifts were inside and were lost when the car was taken to the police impound. Experiencing this right before the holidays has been heartbreaking for my kids and overwhelming for me as a parent.
I am now facing the cost of legal assistance, transportation, replacing a car seat, and trying to secure a reliable vehicle so I can continue caring for my children, my grandmother, and meet my son’s medical needs. I also go to matc for nursing and would need to be able to get to and from school .
I am asking for help to get back on my feet—to restore stability, safety, and normalcy for my family during a time that has been incredibly hard on us. Any donation, share, or kind word means more than I can express. If you’re unable to give, sharing this fundraiser would still be a huge blessing.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for any support you’re able to offer. Your kindness and compassion mean more than words can say.
With gratitude,
Keke
