My Mission: Reclaiming My Independence
On September 19, 2023, my life changed in an instant.
I survived a serious car accident where every airbag deployed. By the grace of God, everyone walked away unharmed—but that moment marked a turning point I will never forget.
My name is Keith Oliver. I’m a proud United States Army veteran who served two combat tours in Iraq, and a professionally trained chef. I’ve always lived an active, independent life—serving others and staying connected to my community.
Shortly after the accident, I was diagnosed with a seizure disorder—the underlying cause of the crash. Since then, I’ve lost the ability to safely drive, and with it, a major part of my independence.
Today, I rely on VA transportation for medical appointments and expensive services like Uber and Lyft just to manage everyday life—grocery shopping, visiting friends, and staying connected to the world around me. What used to be simple is now a constant challenge.
Losing my independence has been one of the hardest battles I’ve faced.
But as a veteran, I’ve been trained to adapt—not quit.
After carefully researching my options, I’ve found a path forward. I’m working toward purchasing a Tesla Model Y equipped with advanced driver-assist technology. While it still requires driver supervision, these features provide an added layer of safety that can help me regain mobility, confidence, and peace of mind.
My Goal: $44,000
This isn’t just about a vehicle.
It’s about reclaiming my independence.
It’s about restoring my dignity.
It’s about getting my life back.
If you feel moved to support—whether by donating or simply sharing my story—it would mean more than I can express. Every bit of help brings me one step closer to living independently again.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and stand with me during this chapter of my life.
