My name is Keith Jones, and I have dedicated over 60 years to the music industry as a touring and recording musician, as well as a recording and mixing engineer and studio owner. My three daughters and two grandchildren are thriving, and my youngest granddaughter is now attending college. Family has always been at the heart of my journey.
After my father's passing, I relocated to Florida to help care for my mother. In July 2019, I returned to my longtime home in Southern California, and by November, I was back in Los Angeles. I poured my energy into building a new studio in San Pedro, investing in state-of-the-art Dolby Atmos technology with the help of a low-interest SBA business loan. The studio was completed in July 2022, and I began growing my client base with the rising popularity of Atmos mixing.
However, on June 29th, 2023, I suffered a stroke that required a two-day stay in the ER. I kept this private, sharing only with close family and friends, and received generous support from the California Jazz Foundation. With their help and my determination, I made steady progress in my recovery and continued to build my business.
In early 2025, I discovered water leakage from the studio roof. Unfortunately, the issue was not resolved, and it led to massive flooding and a partial ceiling collapse. All of my equipment had to be removed and put into storage. Since May, I have been left without a place to work or live. My insurance claim was denied, as the company found the roof was compromised before the storm, leaving me with no choice but to pursue legal action against my landlord.
This has been an incredibly difficult period, and I am reaching out for help. Any donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward legal costs, rebuilding my studio, and supporting my living expenses as I work to recover and rebuild. Your kindness and support mean the world to me. Thank you for considering a contribution to help me through this challenging time.
