Help Keith Johnson Access Life-Saving Cancer Treatment in Hong Kong

We are raising funds for our beloved uncle, Keith Johnson, a proud Southern Tutchone Elder from Burwash Landing, Yukon. Keith is the oldest son of Lena Johnson and Fred Chambers; he's a knowledge keeper, a hard-working small business owner, and a devoted father and husband.

At over 70 years old, Keith is still full of life, purpose, and laughter. He recently married and is now raising a young daughter with his wife. Mel and Mia are newly granted Canadian permanent residents. They are building a beautiful life together—but cancer has added an unexpected and heavy burden.

Keith has been courageously battling liver cancer for over a year. He has undergone chemotherapy treatments in both Vancouver and Whitehorse, but the results have been stagnant. The cancer has not spread—but it hasn’t shrunk either. After months of grueling side effects and emotional strain, his medical team shared that no additional progress is expected through chemotherapy.

Yet there is hope. Keith has found an advanced and promising treatment called histotripsy, a non-invasive therapy that uses focused ultrasound pulses to destroy cancer cells. It’s a cutting-edge, FDA-recognized technology, but not yet available in Canada.

Keith is seeking to receive histotripsy therapy in Hong Kong, where the treatment is already offered and more accessible than in the United States. Given the political climate and cost considerations in the US, Hong Kong provides a safer and more viable option for Keith and his family.
