Help Keith in his cancer battle
Keith Harrington is a husband, father and grandfather who is a great example of love and a source of strength. He lives with his wife of 56 years, Nellie and his son Rob. Keith also has a daughter Kristine and son-in-law Don, and a son Kyle. Keith has four grandsons Jake, Eric, Dylan and Sidney. Not only does Keith care about other people, he is also an avid animal lover who has always had pets in the house.
In the spring of 2021, Keith started to feel intense pain in his back that prevented him from sleeping at night. He was prescribed medication for his back pain which he did not react well to, and in late June Keith ended up in the Emergency Room. A CT scan revealed that he had metastases on both lungs, several metastases on his rib cage and a lesion on his right kidney. Over the next two weeks he underwent a battery of tests and scans. Then he received the devastating diagnosis of Advance Stage 4 Renal Cell Carcinoma. His prognosis is disheartening. On July 20 2021 Keith was released from the hospital under palliative care. He is currently at home being cared for by his wife and family. He also receives homecare daily from a nurse and healthcare aide.
Keith has worked so hard all of his life and had no plans of stopping. He has put himself through school and continual courses ad training. He strives on being a problem solver! He has worked for several companies including Electrohome, Aabex, GE Computer Services, GE Medical Services and Fujitsu Canada. He started his most recent job at Howell Data Systems in 2000. Unfortunately, Keith was laid off from this job in November 2019 and was unable to find work during the Covid Pandemic. His goal for this year was to start a Computer Consulting business but cancer has taken this plan away.
Keith has always tried to overcome challenges on his own which is a source of pride for him. However, he has reached a point where some financial support from others would be a great comfort. It could help take care of his unfortunate upcoming final expenses as well as some of the current expenses that continue to pile up due to this horrible illness.
Any support you can provide by donating, sharing this campaign, or both would be much appreciated
