My brother Keith and his family lost their battle with ALS. Keith passed away this morning. They desperately need help. If you can spare some extra money, this would be the time. Whatever you can afford can help the family with approaching funeral costs and living costs and would be greatly appreciated.

Keith, his wife Samantha, and their children Kaleb and Brooke have been enduring their ALS fight for over 5 years and through the pandemic. It began 5 years ago with symptoms. Keith was diagnosed with ALS nearly 4 years ago . Since that time, Keith has been making life adjustments each turn, as the disease gradually stole the use of his body one limb at a time. He continued to work, figuring out methods to overcome his disabilities in order to support his family. Sam transferred from a working wife to a full-time caregiver for Keith and their children. Eventually, more caregiver staff had to come in and assist Sam and the kids weekly because Keith's needs became complex. Sam has been unable to work for the past two years in order to stay the course with Keith, mostly alone.

Last year Keith became fully paralyzed. He still continued to work using sophisticated software that allow him to use his eyes. This became more difficult as his ALS progressed. The disease began taking its toll on his throat and lungs. Just before Christmas last year, Keith was hospitalized due to difficulty with breathing. Something we all take for granted every single day. Since that time, Keith has been in and out of ICU as the disease has progressed.

Keith can no longer breath unassisted. He was been moved from ICU to PCU (Palliative Care). Doctors optimistically give Keith 2 weeks to 2 months to live. Sam and the kids visit him daily. They are now selling things to make ends meet as they have exhausted their savings.
