Help Keith fight kidney disease
Donation protected
Hi everyone, this gofundme is getting set up to help my husband Keith out .
So, this is how his story goes, 18 years ago Keith was told he has type 1 diabetes. Due to this it has affected his body badly. A little over a year ago Keith was at home after working a night shift. I couldn't get in touch with him so called our daughter to check on him when she got home from school. When she got home her and her brother found Keith collapse on the bathroom floor. After a frantic call from Lucy I got home and called 999. When the paramedics got to the house his blood pressure was 220/180, was not able to speak, walk or stand, he was in a critical condition and brought straight to resus in Beaumont hospital, he doesn’t remember a thing about it .
A couple of days later doctors came in to tell us both, he has chronic kidney disease basically kidney failure and would need to start dialysis and more importantly need a kidney transplant. He is currently on the transplant list and I am getting tested to see if I can donate a kidney through the paired kidney exchange as I am not a direct match for him. This is all a very long process.
Due to this illness there has been a number of side affects for him. One of the main ones is bleeding to his eyes. Once a month for the last year he has been getting injections in his eyes and also laser treatment, but unfortunately neither has worked and in September his eyes got a lot worse, which means he has not been able to work since. On the 19th Feb Keith will be going in for major surgery on his eyes to HOPEFULLY fix this.
He has his good days and bad days thankfully, now, he has been having more good then bad. But as everyone knows things are not easy now of days, with bill piling up, we are starting to find things are getting on top of us now. Anyone that knows Keith knows he would do ANYTHING FOR ANYONE. All I am asking for is a little be of help for my amazing husband.
Thank you all for taking the time to have a little read. xxx
