My uncle and his wife have had a rough couple of months. My Uncle Keith has been in the hospital since January 20th and his wife Rachele has been staying with family due to her Alzheimer’s and hearing problems.

My uncle was diagnosed with spinal scoliosis with RA in early January; if he was not treated, he would not have the ability to walk. On January 20th, he had his surgery called lumbar fusion L1 to L5, which took 9 hours. However, there were complications. He had to have a revised surgery on January 26th, another 4 hours.

Unfortunately, from this, he went on to develop blood clots in both legs and was followed by a post-operation infection on March 16th. He had another operation to clean out the infections. He was alright for a week. Then, on March 30th, he had to have another operation in his lower back because the infection was spreading and not healing. He proceeded to have a washout surgery, another 3 hours of surgery. He is currently still in the hospital!

"I'm recovering now in the hospital but I was just informed that I'll be having a 5th operation within the next 2 weeks. After that, I'll be able to go home. But I'll need a home health care nurse and also home therapy."

Unfortunately, funds have been rough as they are both retired senior citizens! If you have any funds to help support both Keith and Rachele Gibbons, they would appreciate any help!
