Mayday!! Help Keith and Matthew Keep Their Homes

MAYDAY!! 5/1/2025

Matthew and I are in the fight of our lives trying to keep our roofs over our heads, utilities and car insurances paid, and some left over for food so we’re not relying entirely on food from food pantries and food banks.

Matthew has been out of work since a week after I got home from surgery last October. He’s looking, has had a couple of interviews, but he’s had no luck so far. His Asperger’s and executive function issues are presenting some challenges, impeding his progress on this front.

Meanwhile, I have been trying to cover the following with just my disability since then, which includes Matthew’s rent, cable, cell phone, and car insurance, as well as my rent, electric, cable, cell phone, and car insurance. That on top of trying to pay for two surgeries, three subacute care therapy stays, and visiting nurse home care, and I’m already in need of another surgery. The emergency vet bills were the last straw, leaving me no choice but to file bankruptcy now that all other steps I needed to accomplish are complete. But until I can file, we still need the minimum to maintain shelter for now.

Recent financial hardships, including the near death of our family pet, have made our situation much more dire that we are in need of funds as soon as humanly/electronically possible. Circumstances currently prevent us from moving in together for the next two years or Matthew will lose his housing voucher.

So please, I beg of you, if you can spare anything, anything at all, Matthew and I would most greatly appreciate it.

More importantly, if you could share this with your friends, family, colleagues, clients, anyone to get the word out. Maybe we’ll luck out and get a few more donations that way.
