Help Keisha get her therapy dog

Keisha is a beautiful 16 year old girl, living with Tourette syndrome, ASD, severe anxiety and Non Epileptic Seizures, which unfortunately can make her life very challenging, and impacts even the simplest tasks. In  2017 Keisha woke with a strange neck jerk, that very quickly escalated into full head and shoulder jerks and vocal noises. After 12 months of this “tic” Keisha was diagnosed with having Tourette’s syndrome, which has since been linked with her Autism. Although we do not see a typical Tourette “tic” very often,  Keisha now endures many seizures with her Tourette’s, caused by heightened anxiety in stressful situations. Keisha is often unable to do a full week at school, as she has seizures that leave her unconscious, then unable to move free of pain for many days. Part of this illness  also sees her having seizures during the night if she has a bad dream and/or panic attacks, and pulling at her skin and face when highly anxious.  After much research we have discovered a therapy dog would provide many benefits to keisha and allow her to live a more for filling lifestyle, and achieve her goals of completing high school.  As buying and training a therapy dog is an expensive task, our aim is to raise $6000, that  will go towards the purchase of a Labrador pup, as well as all training needed to have this pup registered as a public assistance dog, and the initial vet care needed.

We have found a very highly recommended, reputable breeder in which we will purchase a pup from.

We have also been fortunate enough to find a trainer, and our future pup will begin training at 8 weeks old with Dogs4training, followed by training with Minddogs Australia.
