Help Keisha and Ms. Augusta Rebuild Their Home After a Devastating Tragedy

Dear Friends, Family, and Compassionate Supporters,

I’m reaching out with a heart full of hope and urgency to help my best friend, Keisha, and her incredible mother, Ms. Augusta. For anyone who knows Keisha, you’ll understand why this campaign is so important. She’s always the first person to show up for others in their time of need. Now, she needs us to show up for her.

In August of 2024, a gas leak in her neighbor’s home led to an explosion that changed her life forever. The explosion caused catastrophic damage to Keisha’s home—so severe that the entire structure had to be torn down. What should have been a time to lean on insurance turned into an unimaginable nightmare.

Keisha’s insurance policy covered close to $700,000, but the costs have been staggering:
* The demolition alone, due to the fragile and dangerous nature of the gas-related damage and structural damage, exceeded $600,000.
* Unexpected city violations—completely out of their control and no fault of theirs—ate away what little funds remained.
Now, Keisha and Ms. Augusta are left with nothing to rebuild their home. Starting from scratch will cost over $700,000, and they simply don’t have the resources to make it happen. This entire ordeal has been emotionally, physically, and spiritually draining for them. Despite the stress and heartbreak, Keisha and her mother Ms. Augusta has remained a faithful servant of God, trusting that a way will be made.
Keisha’s mother, Ms. Augusta, is a remarkable woman. As a single mother, she worked three jobs to buy this house and create a safe, loving home for her daughters. Her hard work and sacrifice built not just a house, but a haven filled with love and memories. Losing it all has been devastating.
Keisha is not just my best friend; she is the best friend to many. Her kindness, compassion, and selflessness have touched countless lives. That’s why I, Isis, along with her other friends are organizing this campaign to help rebuild her and Ms. Augusta’s home.
Keisha has given so much to others. She’s the one who will bring meals to neighbors, pray with friends in crisis, and lend a hand—without ever expecting anything in return. Now, it’s our turn to lift her up. Let’s show her that her unwavering kindness and generosity have not gone unnoticed.
