Hello, I am Kasie Zick, twin of Keila Adkins. If you guys know Keila, you know that she has a heart of gold and would (and does) do anything for anyone she could. Right now, she is going through disaster after disaster. In June of 2025, she lost a job she absolutely adored, but with her son Carter facing a major open-heart surgery that same month, she saw a silver lining as this would allow her to be with him through that. Thankfully, after 2 open-heart surgeries, Carter is on the mend.

With school back in session, Keila found a new job opportunity and was so excited to start that, but the universe had other plans. She fell down her porch steps and broke her right ankle in 2 places and severely sprained her left ankle, leaving her completely unable to use her legs. She had emergency surgery Monday, October 20th, resulting in her having an external fixture and will need to go to a rehab facility for 2-5 weeks until her next surgery to remove the external fixture and internally add plates and screws to stabilize her ankle.

With all this going on, her husband Josh has had to take FMLA to care for their 4 children and be by her side. This has left them in an even more vulnerable place financially. I’ve started this GoFundMe in hopes to ease the burden of their rent for the next 2 months and get them through the holidays.
