Help Keep a GNC Homie in HVAC School
Donation protected
If you know me at all, you understand that me asking for help does not come lightly.
I have been working a little over 2 years trying to get into an HVAC technical program so I can better help my family monetarily and be an aid to the community with my eventual services.
Two days before I was scheduled to start my first day of technical school, my car was t-boned and totaled at a 4-way intersection by a driver who scared away my witnesses and has been so difficult to work with that it is looking like I might need to get a lawyer involved.
With a car, my commute to school is roughly 1 hour and 30 minutes. Without a car, it will take me 4 hours to get to school, where the program starts at 8am Monday - Thursday.
I work as a bartender, and like many other bartenders these winter months my hours have been cut severely. Which has not helped with these sudden and costly expenses.
I have used every last penny I have on a rental car so I don’t miss a day of school, but now my rental contract is about to end and I do not have enough money to renew.
The course I'm in is very accelerated. Genuinely, I can’t afford to miss a day or I will be extremely behind. As a trans masc person trying to enter a very conservative and competitive field, I need every hour of schooling I can get.
The money from this GoFundMe will be used towards:
- $1,200 Rental car expenses
- Fees for the tow yard my old Honda is currently in
- Monthly School Payment
- Legal fees
I am fortunate enough to be inheriting my aunt’s car next month, but the car needs a good bit of work before it is road ready, so I need to continue to rely on a rental until I can pick it up.
I know times are tough for all of us, but any help you can spare is greatly appreciated. Thank you to anyone who even spends the time reading this.
