Help keep a volunteer wildlife transport service on the road.

Wildlife Hospital Transport (Cheshire & South Manchester)
www.wildlifehospitaltransport.org

I’m a volunteer who provides transport for wildlife casualties that have already been safely contained.
My role is straightforward but essential: collecting birds, hedgehogs, foxes and other animals that are already in a box or carrier, and taking them to wildlife hospitals and sanctuaries across Greater Manchester and Cheshire. I work with existing rescue organisations (such as The Fox Rescuers and Manchester Pigeon Rehab), wildlife hospitals and veterinary practices who contact me when a contained animal needs moving. I deliberately do not operate as a public rescue service, because I don’t have the capacity to take direct calls from the public.
The biggest ongoing challenge right now is simply keeping the vehicle on the road. Fuel costs and basic car maintenance are currently the hardest things to cover, and without the vehicle the transport service stops.

What the funds will be used for:

Fuel for wildlife transport journeys
Essential car maintenance and running costs
Protective gloves, nets, carriers
Soft blankets and secure handling tools (grabber, wrist wraps)
Sturdy boots and practical outdoor clothing
Basic tool kit (pliers, bolt cutters, scissors, knife)
Dedicated phone and hands-free mount
Stationery items for records
Professional disinfectants (Virkon and F10) for disease control, including bird flu protocols
Clear high-visibility vehicle markings and “Wildlife Hospital Transport” signage so other road users can see the vehicle is carrying wildlife patients

I already give my time freely. This fundraiser is to cover the real running costs and the practical equipment that make the journeys possible and safer for the animals.
If you’d like to help keep this quiet but necessary transport link operating in Greater Manchester and Cheshire, any contribution will make a direct difference.
