Help Keep TuftxPVD Alive

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Savaree “Sav” Hazard-Chaney, and I’m the founder of TuftxPVD—Rhode Island’s first Black, Queer, and Woman-owned rug tufting studio. What started as a dream turned into a community-rooted space where art, healing, and innovation meet. Through TuftxPVD, I’ve taught hundreds of people how to transform yarn into personal expressions—right here in the heart of Providence.

But right now, TuftxPVD is in jeopardy, and I’m reaching out with deep humility and urgency: I need your help to keep the studio going.

This isn’t just about saving a space—it’s about preserving what this space stands for. TuftxPVD has become a haven for creatives, a platform for underrepresented artists, and a vibrant hub where culture and craft collide. From hosting workshops to mentoring young Black entrepreneurs, every tufted thread has held purpose and intention.

Like many small businesses, the rising cost of materials, rent, and operating expenses—combined with a changing economy—has hit hard. I’ve poured everything into this studio: time, energy, passion, and every spare dollar. But the truth is, passion alone can’t keep the lights on. I’m at a crossroads.

I’ve done what I can to stretch resources, scale offerings, and sustain momentum, but I can’t do it alone. That’s why I’m calling on this incredible community—those who’ve sat in the studio and tufted with joy, those who’ve supported from afar, those who believe in the power of Black and queer-owned creative spaces—to help me keep TuftxPVD alive.

Your support will go directly toward:

Studio rent and utilities
Replenishing essential supplies (yarn, tufting cloth, glue, etc.)
Equipment maintenance and upgrades
Community events and free creative programming
Covering basic operating costs so I can focus on what I do best—teaching, making, and growing this space
Any amount, big or small, helps tremendously. And if you can’t donate, sharing this campaign means the world to me.

This isn’t the end—it’s a turning point. With your support, TuftxPVD can continue to be a force of joy, resistance, creativity, and connection. Let’s keep crafting. Let’s keep building. Let’s keep going—together.

With deep gratitude,
Sav ✨
