Tim Hendershot has always been a devoted husband and father, successful businessman, and active member of his community.  He participated in triathlons, was passionate about volunteering, and was dedicated to friends and family.  But in 2010, he suffered a massive brainstem stroke, which left him with very limited use of his body.  He is now paralyzed, and depends on others for all of his needs. In spite of all his limitations, he continues to be a wonderful husband, father, brother and friend to many. His courageous attitude, and spirit of endurance and strength, shine through and inspire everyone who meets him.

Over the last 10 years, Tim's family has been determined to care for Tim at home, rather than in a long term care facility.  But the cost of his care, hospital bills, and medical supplies continue to rise, and have left the family with substantial debt.  

His physical condition is such that he requires caregivers to move him and care for him. This is one of the largest financial burdens associated with Tim's care.

Although Tim's doctors have recommended putting him in a care facility, we are determined to keep him at home, where he will be happiest. At home he can be with his family, benefit from the company of household pets, eat home-cooked meals, and enjoy the yard and neighborhood he loves so much.

Every year it becomes increasingly more difficult to provide for Tim's ever-increasing needs.  It is very frightening to think about a future where we can no longer afford to keep Tim at home.
