This past winter, William, a graduate student and brain tumor researcher, and Regan, a medical student, volunteered to coach a group of 7th and 8th-graders in a local rec basketball league. The team battled all the way to the championship game, and along the way, these kids built friendships and a love for the game that didn't end when the season did.
They asked their coaches to keep going, forming a summer travel team to train and compete together before high school tryouts. William and Regan gladly volunteered.
Our team is navigating rising costs, economic uncertainty, and sudden medical expenses, making playing fees unaffordable.
Here's what your support covers for the entire 10-player roster:
- Six local tournaments
- Practice facility fees at a local church
- Uniforms
- Team insurance
Sponsoring a player for $200 covers one kid's full share of the season — tournaments, practice, uniform, and all. Every dollar helps, and sharing this page can help ensure these kids get to enjoy the game, compete, and focus on their growth without worrying about costs.
