Help keep the wheels turning at Mirela's shelter

hi, my name is Liz Akkos and I am fundraising for my friend Mirela Soare, who works tirelessly to rescue animals and look after many dogs at her rented shelter in the environs of Bucharest.

Mirela has spent years taking dogs from the streets and kill shelters of Romania, and helping other animals wherever possible, at huge personal cost. She has many dogs in her shelter that rescuers from other countries have abandoned and forgotten, though they initially promised to meet the cost of their monthly care and veterinary costs. The number of unfunded dogs has risen and caused her to use up all her resources - she relies entirely on donations and upon the few rescuers who do continue to fund their dogs in her care.

Mirela's rented shelter in Sabareni is fairly remote and can only be accessed using lanes across fields which, in winter, are very muddy or snowy. The 80 km daily round trip from her home is only possible with a 4x4 vehicle.

Unfortunately, the Jeep has broken down and has numerous problems which Mirela does not have the funds to fix. There is no other way for her to reach the shelter and to ensure that the dogs have fresh water and food daily, are cleaned and checked. There is no public transport that she could use and she desperately needs the vehicle back on the road urgently. There are 180 dogs relying on her alone to help them and keep them healthy!
