The Story

Mateo and Antonia have spent the last 20 years building a life centered on family, faith, and hard work in the U.S. They have three teenaged daughters: Ana, Emily, and Claudia. Whether it’s sharing dinner after saying grace every night, taking silly photos in matching Christmas pajamas, or spending weekends fishing and walking their dog in the park, simply being together has always been their world. Mateo is an exceptionally patient and loving father who taught his girls how to swim and drive, and a devoted husband who works tirelessly as a full-time landscaper.

Everything changed on August 14th.

On his way to pick up his company truck for work, Mateo was suddenly detained. For days, his family was left in agonizing uncertainty, not knowing where he was or if he was safe. They eventually learned he had been transferred to a detention center across the country. His absence is felt every day and Antonia and the girls are suffering emotionally, struggling to get through their days without his loving support.

Determined to bring her husband home, Antonia exhausted their life savings and sold the family car to retain legal counsel for Mateo’s case. However, losing their vehicle has made it nearly impossible for Antonia to continue her work as a house cleaner. Without Mateo’s income, Antonia's job, or their savings, Antonia and their girls are facing severe financial distress while fighting to reunite their home.
