The Rotary Club of Babcock Ranch, FL has successfully worked with the Rotary Club of Kyiv-Capital and the City of Chernihiv, Ukraine to install a badly needed solar array on Chernihiv Maternity Hospital KNP. Ukrainians are turning to solar energy because much of the energy grid has been destroyed and blackouts are common. Read about our work here .
Now we're turning our attention to the 600-bed general hospital in Chernihiv ("Chernihiv Hospital No. 2"), which desperately needs reliable electricity as well. In recent years, it's become a regional hub for the rehabilitation of wounded soldiers returning from the frontline battle against the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. Dollars collected here will provide a much needed supplement to the Rotary Global Grant we have written to fund this $125,000 project. We have a vetted team of Ukrainian solar installers, an engineering study from US solar experts to help guide the work, 12 Rotary Clubs as donors, and a team of Ukrainian colleagues who are collaborating despite difficult daily circumstances to bring this, our second solar energy project in Chernihiv, to fruition. Below is a photo of our first project; this second one will be nearby on a larger hospital. Thank you in advance for your help!
