My name is Jade and I’m creating this GoFundMe for my sister, Swanique Jordan, a loving and hardworking mother of three beautiful children.

Swanique is the kind of mom who never stops — she works two jobs to provide for her kids to ensure they have everything they need. But right now, she’s facing something she never could have prepared for!

What began as a hospital visit for pneumonia turned into a terrifying medical crisis. Swanique was scheduled for what was supposed to be a minor outpatient procedure (a bronchoscopy) — something that would normally send her home the same day. Unfortunately, during the procedure, her lung was accidentally punctured, which led to a collapsed lung and serious complications.

Her test results have come back inconclusive, meaning doctors still don’t have a clear diagnosis for what they found on her X-rays and CT scans. She’s now been in the hospital for over a week, and they are working to transfer her to a larger hospital for more specialized care, but a bed may not be available for another 7–10 days. Once she’s transferred, her recovery timeline is still unknown.

Because of this unexpected and frightening situation, Swanique has been unable to work and is missing the income that keeps her home and family stable. I’m currently here taking care of her three children while she fights to heal and we wait to get a diagnosis of what’s being seen on her scans. The kids miss their mom deeply, and we’re doing everything we can to keep things together until she’s back home with them.
