--- --- --- --- --- OCTOBER UPDATE --- --- --- --- ---

Wow! Your kind support means we have reached our target of £2,500 in six months - thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far.

As with many of the smaller not-for-profit theatre companies, we are not receiving any support from the government via the #CultureRecoveryFund. This means that until we can put on live shows again, we are in a very turbulent position and are relying solely on the kindness of donations to keep Spontaneous Productions afloat.

While we will not lose hope that we can bring you a show by the end of 2020, in order to keep you safe (with social distancing in place), we must run any performances at 30% our normal capacity. In addition, the uncertainty of potential local lockdowns makes planning live shows all the more riskier for a small company.

Can you help us get through what's looking to be our toughest Autumn/Winter ever by helping us reach our new target of £3,500 by the end of this year?

Here's three ways your contribution will help:
          • Contributing towards the cost of empty seats as a result of our reduced capacity at the Sydenham Centre
          • Supporting our small team of freelancers who have been greatly impacted by the pandemic to stay afloat financially
          • Providing baseline running costs to ensure the survival of the organisation.

Once again thank you so much to everyone who has helped so far. Your continued support inspires us to keep fighting through for the love of theatre in SE London!

If you can't donate then no worries! You can still help by sharing our GoFundMe page link: https://gf.me/u/yknjqr and use the hashtag #KeepMakingMagic

Stay safe and stay positive :)

The Spontaneous Productions Team x

--- --- --- --- --- --- --- ORIGINAL POST --- --- --- --- --- --- ---

These are tough times for everybody. As we go through this unprecedented crisis, many of us are wondering when things will return to ‘normal’. At Spontaneous Productions we are very optimistic that we’ll be able to continue or programme of live theatre events this autumn, and that with your help, we will be able to launch a fantastic new programme of activities from Spring 2021.

As a 'not for profit' community theatre company serving the local SE London community, we have produced 27 shows in the last 3 years, entertaining over 10,000 people. Once the worst of this current crisis is over, we will need your help to launch our next season. Any donation, however small or large, will enable us to keep making the magical theatre our audience have to come to expect.

We hope to continue the run of our fantastic new family theatre show The Seven Voyages of Sinbad the Sailor (above) as soon as possible, and remain optimistic that The Tales of Beatrix Potter in Mayow Park (following last year’s smash hit Alice in Wonderland) may be possible either this summer or summer 2021.

Future plans include:

- A rehearsed reading of The Roses of Whitechapel - telling the story of Jack the Ripper’s victims (first staged in 2000 and revived in 2010)
- A ‘scratch night’ of new monologues by emerging playwrights
- Beauty and the Beast - a ‘pay what you can’ panto (hopefully Christmas 2020)
- Mike Leigh’s comedy classic Abigail’s Party (probably Spring 2021)
- The Tempest - open-air theatre next summer 2021

We will be extremely grateful for any support, and to say thank you we will releasing FREE videos of our four most recent productions: Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland (see link below), Pinocchio, Frighteners 2019 and The Snow Queen. Videos will appear every fortnight, and please feel free to share these with anyone you know.
