Summary
Help Keep Somtochukwu in AI & Robotics at Kingston University-Please Don’t Let Fees End My Degree.

I am Somtochukwu Lawrence Obieri a passionate AI & Robotics Engineering student at Kingston University London. After an unexpected change to my fee status and long delays with Student Finance England, I was blocked from my university accounts and told to leave my accommodation unless I paid half of my £18,500 tuition. With my mother’s support and a kind loan from a compassionate individual, I managed to pay £9,250 -but I still need help covering the remaining balance to stay enrolled and continue pursuing my dream of creating technology that helps people. Please help me keep my place at university and continue my journey in AI and robotics.

MY STORY
My name is Somtochukwu Lawrence Obieri, and I am studying AI & Robotics Engineering at Kingston University London.

I chose this field because I believe technology should serve people where it matters most-assistive robots for elder care, accessible devices for people with disabilities, and tools that make everyday life safer and easier. My goal is to design and build technology that improves lives and opens opportunities for those who need them most.

I worked incredibly hard to earn my place at Kingston University. But after an unexpected change to my fee status and delays from Student Finance England, I was blocked from all my university systems and asked to vacate my accommodation unless I could pay 50% of my tuition fees (£18,500 total).

With the help of my beloved mother and a kind individual who offered a personal loan, I was able to make a £9,250 part payment on 4 November 2025, which allowed me to remain enrolled.

However, I still need to raise the remaining £9,250 to continue my studies. We are still actively seeking help and support, but time and resources are running out.

I am 19 years old and joined my family in the UK in 2021. I began my studies at Kingston University in September 2025, believing I qualified as a home student eligible for Student Finance England (SFE) funding.

Unfortunately, because I hold Limited Leave to Remain (LLR) under the 10-year family route to settlement, my tuition status was changed to international, which means I am not eligible for home fees or SFE support.

This sudden change placed me in an impossible situation: to stay enrolled, I had to pay 50% of my total tuition upfront. Without this payment, I would have been withdrawn from the course.

Thanks to my mother’s perseverance and a generous supporter, I made the first payment just before the deadline. Now, I urgently need help with the remaining tuition balance to stay on my course and keep pursuing my dream.

Why Your Support Matters.

Education is not just my dream it’s my path to building a future where technology helps people live better lives.

Your support will help me:

* Remain enrolled in AI & Robotics Engineering at Kingston University.
* Regain full access to my university systems and course materials.
* Continue my studies without the fear of withdrawal.
* Focus on building skills that can one day contribute to real solutions in healthcare, accessibility, and safety.

Every contribution, no matter how small, brings me closer to finishing my degree and creating a positive impact in my community.

How Your Donation Will Be Used.

* Outstanding tuition balance: £9,250
* Card and processing fees (around 3% + £0.25 per donation): included
* Small allowance for study essentials (included)

Total campaign goal: £10,000
(This will be adjusted as payments clear and statements are updated.)

Transparency and Updates.

I want everyone who supports me to feel confident about where their contribution goes.

* I will upload the latest university invoice, payment receipts, and confirmation letters.
* I will post updates after each payment and whenever my enrolment status changes.
* If the campaign raises more than needed, extra funds will go toward next semester’s tuition fees.
* If all future fees are covered, any remaining funds will be donated to an education hardship fund, and I will share proof of this.
* If you prefer to pay directly to Kingston University, please contact me through this page for the official payment reference and instructions.

Timeline.

* 4 November 2025: £9,250 part payment made (receipt will be posted).
* Now: Raising the remaining balance urgently to stay for the next term beginning January 2026.
* Once goal is reached: Funds will be transferred directly to the university, and confirmation will be shared publicly.

Thank You.

Your kindness keeps me in the classroom. It turns fear into focus and uncertainty into opportunity.

Every donation, every share, and every word of encouragement means more than I can express. I promise to honour your support through hard work, transparency, and gratitude.

Thank you so much for helping me continue my studies and for believing in my dream to make technology serve humanity.

With heartfelt thanks,
Somtochukwu Lawrence Obieri
