Help Keep Snack Shuttle Rolling

If you’ve seen Snack Shuttle around Topeka, you’ve probably seen our big, slightly ridiculous old ambulance turned ice cream and drinks truck. We love this thing and everything we’ve been able to build with it.

Unfortunately, keeping it on the road has become one of the hardest parts of running our small business.

We’ve spent a lot of time and money trying to diagnose and repair problem after problem. We’ve replaced parts, chased issues, broken down, gotten back up, fixed something else… and kept going.

Recently, the truck broke down on Highway 24 on our way home from an event. While plenty of people drove by, one man stopped to help us. We later learned that he and his boyfriend are currently homeless, yet he was the person who stopped when we needed someone.

We started trying to find him simply because we wanted to thank him.

That search eventually led to WIBW sharing our story — and while they were filming with us, they got to see firsthand some of the problems we deal with just trying to keep Snack Shuttle running.

So we’re finally asking for a little help ourselves.

Our first goal: $10,000 toward reliable wheels for Snack Shuttle.

Our ultimate goal is to replace our aging ambulance with a reliable, self-contained vehicle that can continue operating as Snack Shuttle.

Depending on what opportunities become available, the money raised may be used toward purchasing a reliable used vehicle, a down payment on a purpose-built concession truck, transferring or rebuilding our existing equipment into another vehicle, or other necessary costs involved in getting Snack Shuttle into something we can depend on.

We’re also incredibly open to in-kind help. If you’re a dealership, mechanic, fabricator, commercial vehicle company, or local business that may be able to help with a vehicle, repairs, parts, labor, conversion work, or sponsorship, we’d love to hear from you.

We’re not expecting someone to magically hand us a brand-new truck. Every contribution simply gets us one step closer to being able to show up to an event without wondering whether we’re also going to need a tow truck.

Snack Shuttle has become so much more than we imagined when we started. We’ve served schools, teams, community events, families, kids, workplaces and neighborhoods all over our area — and we aren’t ready to stop.

We just need something that can keep up with us. ❤️
