Help Keep Shire Glass Alive!

Hello, dear Shire Glass friends near and far,

Maggie here, I just wanted to take a moment to share an update on where we stand right now.

As many of you know, Shire Glass has been part of the Berkshire community since 2014. Becoming a woman-led space that celebrates creativity, inclusivity, and connection. Over the years, we’ve curated a diverse selection of alternative adult accessories, books, ceramics, jewelry, clothing, antiques, local treasures, and so much more, all with a focus on quality and individuality. Our commitment to the community goes far beyond the products we offer—we are deeply invested in our local talent. We actively collaborate with artists, providing them with a platform to showcase their work and connect with a wider audience. Whether it's featuring their pieces in our store, hosting pop-up events, or working on special collaborations like being a set space for the movie A Stroke of Luck, we are dedicated to supporting and elevating their art!

In addition to our support for local artists, we host and participate in a variety of events designed to bring people together and strengthen community ties. From our popular paint-your-own pottery events hosted by The Glazing Ladies, to our involvement in VFW events, food and coat drives, dance parties, and community nights at The Cove we strive to create spaces where connection, creativity, and support can thrive! We are committed to creating a welcoming environment for everyone no matter where we go, whether you're a longtime customer, a first-time visitor, or someone who’s joined us for an event.

But, the truth is, business is down—way down.

Just like many small businesses, we’ve faced our fair share of challenges over the years. For the past couple of years, we’ve been doing everything we can to weather this storm, but our revenue has plummeted. What used to be our daily sales now only happens over the course of a week or two. While we’re incredibly grateful to still have loyal customers like you, the reality is that it’s just not enough to keep us afloat. If we want to continue, and if you want us to continue, we need your help.

We’ve set a goal to raise $30,000 to cover our shop expenses for the year (rent/insurance/

utilities/maintenance) and ensure Shire Glass remains a space where creativity and collaboration can continue to thrive!
