Help Keep Sergio in His Country With His Children

We are reaching out with heavy yet very hopeful hearts to ask for your support in helping Sergio - a devoted father, son, friend, and grandson - who is now facing the unthinkable: deportation from the only home he’s ever known.

Sergio was brought to the United States legally with a Border Crosser Pass at just 4 years old. Now 29, he has built his entire life here and knows no other home than the USA. He is the proud father of two U.S. citizen children and everything he does revolves around them.

Sergio is one of the most loyal, thoughtful, kind, loving, and selfless people you could ever meet - the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation. He’s always the first to show up when someone needs help and never asks for anything in return. So many people count on him - not just his family, but his friends, his coworkers, and his community.

What defines Sergio is being the wonderful father of 5 year old Everleigh and 3 year old Roland. His children light up when they’re with him. He’s not just a provider - he’s their protector, their biggest supporter, their Superman, and their safe place in a tough world. Losing their father, even temporarily, would be devastating. They need him every single day - for hugs, for guidance, for soccer games and Chuck E. Cheese visits - and most of all, for the love only a dad, like Sergio, can give. His kids need and depend on him.

Sergio is the kind of man who shows up. He has worked full-time since graduating high school and has been at his current job for five years, earning the respect and trust of his boss and coworkers. He is committed, hardworking, and a dependable leader.

So why is he facing deportation? The short answer: the system is broken. Sergio was brought here as a toddler and had no choice in the matter. He came here legally - but the pathway to citizenship is long, complicated, and nearly impossible without very expensive legal help.

Sergio is currently in ICE custody in Louisiana and is at risk of being permanently separated from the only country, life and family he has ever known. And unless we act fast, Sergio could be sent to a country he hasn’t seen in 25 years - where he knows no one and has no home.

We’re raising funds to help cover the cost of legal representation and related expenses it will take to fight for Sergio to stay - in the country he calls home and by the side of the children who can’t imagine life without him.
