Hi, My name is Samiah Daniels and I am currently a Junior at UCLA. Throughout my years here at the University, I have experienced deep depression due to family related issues, and this resulted in me not fully preforming in a few of my classes. Because of this, the university is telling me that I owe them money for classes that I didn't pass while I was experiencing a decline in my mental health. I have submitted supporting documents from my therapist, explaining the severity of my mental health condition but they still want me to pay the outstanding balance. The total amount of the bill is $3600, and I do not have that kind of money at all, nor do my parents. They gave me other alternatives such as private loans, but I also do not have a cosigner for those kind of loans. They are sending this bill over to collections and placing a hold on my account to prevent me from enrolling in my courses for Winter 2023. I do not want to have to take a quarter off because of this, so I am asking for the support of family, friends and anyone who is willing to help me. I would appreciate anything.
