Hi everyone. I have created this GoFundMe page to support the care expenses for Peky. Let me begin by telling you a little bit about her and how you can help now that she is in need.
Peky was adopted by my closest cousin 6-months ago. Prior to her being adopted, Peky was living in a stressful environment and was extremely malnourished and neglected. She struggled finding a consistent home where she would receive the love and care she longed for and deserved.
In November 2020, my cousin was more than willing to take Peky in and finally give her the consistency and love she'd been waiting for. They were a perfect match. Her new family nourished her back to a healthy state, helped her nervousness and anxiety with the love and care they were giving her. Peky and her new family have been happily enjoying their time together for 6-love filled-months.
This past week, Peky had an appointment to get spayed. The surgery went terribly wrong when they found that Peky had a tear in her diaphragm. Peky went into cardiac arrest and nearly died on the operating table. In the process her organs were also unlatched. The veterinarians were able to repair the tear and place all her organs back in place. They placed a tube in her lungs to allow the air in her lungs to escape, if not her lung would collapse. Peky has a pneumothorax. Due to this traumatic surgery, she has to be closely monitored for 3 or more days, depending on her progress. Her lungs are still leaking air, which is not a good sign. But we are staying hopeful that she will make it through. If Peky does not stop leaking air from her lungs, the veterinarians will have to operate again to find a remedy.
As you can imagine, the surgery and the aftercare have been a heavy expense on Peky's family. So we are reaching out for help with any amount that you can afford to donate, to help bring Peky back to her forever home that she has fought so hard to get.

Peky fue adoptada por mi prima hace 6 meses. Antes de ser adoptada, Peky vivía en un ambiente muy estresante y estaba extremadamente desnutrida y abandonada. Luchó por encontrar un hogar coherente en el que pudiera recibir el amor y la atención que anhelaba y merecía.
En noviembre de 2020, mi prima estaba más que dispuesta a recibir a Peky y finalmente darle la consistencia y el amor que había estado esperando. Eran una pareja perfecta. Su nueva familia la ayudaron a volver a un estado saludable, ayudó a su nerviosismo y ansiedad con el amor y la atención que le estaban dando. Peky y su nueva familia han disfrutado felizmente de su tiempo juntos durante 6 meses llenos de amor.
La semana pasada, Peky tubo una cita para esterilizarse. La cirugía salió terriblemente mal cuando descubrieron que Peky tenía un desgarro en el diafragma. Peky sufrió un paro cardíaco y casi muere en la mesa de operaciones. En el proceso, sus órganos también se desbloquearon. Los veterinarios pudieron reparar el desgarro y colocar todos sus órganos en su lugar. Le colocaron un tubo en los pulmones para permitir que el aire de sus pulmones escapara, si no, su pulmón colapsaría. Peky tiene un neumotórax. Debido a esta cirugía traumática, tuvo que ser monitoreada de cerca durante 3 o más días, dependiendo de su progreso. Sus pulmones todavía tienen fugas de aire, lo cual no es una buena señal.
