My name is Sadie Hardin, and I’ve been an early childhood educator for over 28 years. I used my personal savings to purchase a preschool in a low-income community so children could receive healthy meals, quality curriculum, and a safe place to learn. Every day, I see the difference that a nurturing environment and nutritious meals make for children who might not otherwise have access to these resources.
Recently, licensing delays have put my preschool for low-income families at risk. My licensing application has been under review since October 20, 2025. While the school was not shut down, it was labeled non-operational, which means I cannot receive subsidy payments. Most families I serve rely on subsidies, and without them, I cannot cover essential expenses. I have been doing everything I can to keep the doors open, but my personal savings are running out and the uncertainty is taking a toll on our staff and families.
Funds raised will be used for nutritious food supplies, classroom curriculum and materials, rent, and utilities while licensing is resolved. Your support will help us continue providing a safe, loving space for children to learn and grow. Thank you for supporting early education and the children and families who depend on this school.
