Hey it’s Cheyenne, Brendan and baby and we are fast approaching the deadline of my second visa. We have some savings but need a little help getting the final amount secured. While the first year living abroad was very tough to acclimate to we have since carved out a cozy home and a nice predictable projected timeline for our child’s life. Raising a child is tough enough and being nearby Brendan’s family has made it much easier. The health care system in the UK has been an incredible asset to have. During our child’s birth we experienced several complications during the birth and in several weeks following. We were so thankful to be in the UK where our baby was monitored closely after birth to catch something both Brendan and I thought was normal as new parents and would never have raised concern about. After that eventful bringing into the world, we didn’t walk away with a giant bill. We see our future here and we would really like to secure it. We are cutting as many corners as we can to make this visa achievable on a budget. The lowest we can expect the visa to be is £3,899.50 ($5229.03) as advised by Drummond and Miller immigration law firm. We do have some money saved but are unsure if we can close the gap by June 4th 2026 when my visa application is due then must be approved before my visa expires July 31st 2026. The break down of costs is the visa itself- £1321 ($1771.39) and NHS coverage- £2578.50. ($3457.64) This will be the final visa I need and will cover me for the next 2 1/2 years of living here. After that I apply for permanent residency which is a much more achievable than the requirements and fees for a visa. I am planning to submit the visa myself and not with a law firm to shave as much money off of the bottom line as I can and will forego an expedited application for the same reason. Any help is much appreciated. We understand everyone is feeling the rise of the cost of living and we are sorry to ask for anything as we’d hoped to cover this long before now and be ready for this expected milestone.
