Hi, I’m Nylah.

This past year has been the most incredible year of my life, training at the Royal Ballet School!

In my first year, I had the amazing opportunity to perform as Clara in English National Ballet’s new production of The Nutcracker. I also danced as part of a special showcase for the Chairman’s Circle (including Natasha Kaplinsky) and had the chance to work with incredible choreographers like Ruth Brill, which was truly inspiring. My highlight of the year was dancing on the Royal Opera House stage with all the set for Garden Suite.

I’m really excited to start my second year and feel very grateful to have been selected to take part in the Royal Ballet’s upcoming production of Like Water for Chocolate. This is a provisional role at the moment, but it feels like a new and hopeful chapter of my ballet journey is about to begin.

I’m lucky to receive some government funding that helps with my school fees; however, it doesn’t cover everything. Travel, boarding essentials, uniforms, and supplies all add up and are tough for my mum to manage alone.

This year has been full of big changes at home, and my mum is doing everything she can to keep my dream alive. She’s set up this GoFundMe to help with those extra costs so I can keep dancing and growing.
