Help Keep Nasra and Her Kids Safe and Warm

Hello,

My name is Nasra Omari. I am a 33 year old widow. I studied a bachelor's degree in journalism and media. I live in Gaza City with my two children: my daughter Judy (13 years old) and my son Jawad (11 years old). I had a husband who passed away on 4/1/2024 after a strike hit our home. My story is different from many. I used to live with my husband and children in my beautiful house. My husband was working and our financial situation was good. But one night, in one minute, I lost everything. I always felt like a princess in my beautiful house with my beautiful family. Now I have become a woman with broken wings, moving from one place to another with my children like we're beggars, trying to find a safe place so we can make it through this nightmare.

For nine months, we lived in a worn-out tent. It was like hell. We could not stand it in the summer and could not stand it in the winter. The water would flood the tent and we would squeeze ourselves into the dry part of it, shaking due to the harsh cold. We were able to leave it thanks to donations. I rented a small room on the roof of a house which costs $200 a month. In order to pay for this month's rent, we had to eat even less in order to save money. Now, with donations running slow or not coming at all, I have no idea how I'm going to pay for the room next month.

Please don't make me take my kids back to a ruined tent. The room we are in now is nothing like the house we lost, but it keeps us from suffering with the storms and strong winds. I will do anything and everything to keep my children alive, even if that means letting go of my pride and begging for help. The only good thing about this whole journey is that my kids have a stronger mother now. I need to ask you to donate to my campaign so that I can survive with my family, affording a shelter and food. May God bless your kind heart for reading my plea until the end.

Hello,

My name is Beau and I’m an American friend of Nasra’s who's helping her manage this campaign. Nasra and I met online through a mutual friend, and in the three months I’ve known her we’ve been in touch nearly every day as I’ve tried to help her get the assistance her young family so desperately needs. I’ve seen their struggles firsthand in photos and videos can unfortunately affirm their nightmare is very real.

Nasra lost her husband and her home in a senseless attack early last year. She and her family are unbelievably sweet people with zero history of political involvement in the area; genuine civilians caught in a deadly crossfire. Widowed and homeless, Nasra spent much of the last year living in a tent with her two young children.

They’ve secured a modest room that’s a bit more comfortable than a tent and would love to keep that roof over their head. Further, food prices have skyrocketed as availability has reach drastically low levels (bags of flour are going for $150+ and Nasra and her kids were just recently able to eat chicken for the first time in 8 months).

Nasra’s young family is dependent on the help of kind strangers right now. All donations go straight to Nasra as I receive them, and we've successfully been transferring money to support her family for the last few months now.

Nasra has shown poise, strength, and bravery in circumstances most of us can’t even imagine. She is a hero to her two kids and now to me as well. Please, help my friend. No donation is too small and sharing is free and of critical importance.

Thank you ❤️
