Help Keep My Partner Keethan Here in Australia

My name is Genavieve and I am trying to raise money for my partner Keethan’s visa and lawyer fees.

Keethan was born in a small, rural village in Sri Lanka, where he was raised speaking Tamil (one of the oldest living languages in the world). Sadly Keethan was born into a country in a full-blown civil war that saw over 100,000 minority Tamil people brutally killed. Keethan was forced to flee in fear for his life at no more than five years old. Although the civil war has been said to have ended just over ten years ago, hostility to Tamil people remains. Persecution, discrimination and even torture are reported to be ongoing.

Keethan is a genuine person with a kind soul and a generous heart loved by so many. He is also incredibly bright and has hopes of studying medicine one day. If we cannot raise enough money Keethan will be forced to return to a foreign country he fled from as a small child and where he will again be fearing for his life and safety. My partner wants nothing to do with these ethnic disputes. Keethans life is here in Australia with me. Keethan has no close relatives left in Sri Lanka. My family is Keethan’s family, our dog Shadow and I are Keethan's family. He grew up here; he was educated here, his work and friends are here in Australia.

We are doing what we can to save, but we need some help to reach our goal of $16,295 ($7,715 for his Visa and $8,580 for an immigration lawyer). We understand that it has been difficult times for many as of late, so any support is greatly appreciated.
