Many of you would know, despite any set backs we have in our own personal life as children, we put so much aside without complaint because of the love we have for our mother and their own health and security. I do the very same.
My name is Elijah, and I’m a musician and educator from Houston, Texas.
I take care of my widowed mother, who is battling stroke paralysis and cancer, while helping to keep a roof over our heads in a low-income household.
Most of my income goes toward medical and family bills, but everything has become harder since I lost my car in July 2024. The engine overheated, completely destroying it, and I’ve been without transportation ever since.
- URGENCY
My car was my only mode of transportation, essential for getting to my jobs, as public transit doesn’t serve the areas I work. Since it was disposed, my brother has stepped in to loan me his vehicle, sacrificing his own time and availability to keep me afloat.
I’m beyond grateful for his help, but he’ll soon be working farther away and won’t be able to assist like he has.
I’ve been trying to save for a replacement car by taking on extra work, but it hasn’t been enough to match the urgent need. Without reliable transportation, I risk losing my jobs, which could cause a ripple effect for my entire family. It would make it harder to pay for my mom’s cancer treatments, buy groceries, pay the house bills, all things we maintained the little stability we’ve worked so hard to hold onto.
- THIS is why your help could solve so many of our struggles!
Your generosity—whether through sharing this post or contributing to my fundraiser—could make all the difference. Having a reliable car again would allow me to work, support my family, and give my mother the care she deserves.
So in the season of giving, i ask if this moves you, to share or even, financially aid in any way you can.
Everything you all do to help is better than how I was before so I’m
So very grateful. Much love to everyone!
Thank you,
Sincerely,
Elijah H
