I am currently pursuing my master's degree in addiction counseling at Grand Canyon University, and every dollar I have has gone toward my education. Now, I am facing a legal battle that I cannot afford on my own. My ex-wife is seeking to move our children from Spokane, Washington, to Cleveland, Ohio—a distance of 2,100 miles. This move would be devastating to my relationship with my kids, and I am doing everything I can to keep our family together.

My ex-wife has stated that she needs to provide in-home care for her parents, but they are not infirm and have other family members who could help. I am at a disadvantage in this relocation case because of my bipolar disorder and alcohol use disorder, but I am actively in treatment for both. Despite these challenges, I am committed to being present in my children's lives and believe it is in their best interests to remain in Spokane. They have lived here since 2020, have established friendships in their neighborhood and school, and receive important reading intervention services that would be lost if they moved. They also have family here who love them deeply.

The funds raised will help me afford the legal representation I need to fight for my children's stability and well-being.
