As many know, my 61-year-old mom has stage 4 lung cancer, and she has been on hospice since March 2025 as treatments are no longer beneficial and it has spread to her brain. Her brain tumors are going to take her. She recently lost her Medicaid that provided us with caregiver hours while I work, for reasons we are unsure of exactly but are currently fighting the fight to get it back or something similar.
I moved her in with me last year to prepare for when these days arrived so she can stay home and pass away as peacefully as possible. Without the caregiver hours, I can't afford to pay a 40-hour-a-week salary on top of monthly rent and expenses that I already cover for her.
We are asking friends and family to please contribute if they can. The caregiver is $500/week and we have a good girl who does so well with my mom. Right now, I'm shooting for 1-2 weeks at a time as we don't know how long she will be with us. I am not looking to raise more than needed to keep her home.
If you are able to help, we appreciate it greatly! If not, that is OK too!! We appreciate positive vibes and prayers sent our way.
Other donations are coming in from venmo! As of 6/23 4:45pm we have hit $500 exactly. This will pay for this week's care: 6/23-6/27!
Thank you all!
