On Feb 25th Yeribel (my 3 month old niece) got diagnosed with heart failure and admitted into the hospital in Orlando, after a few days there and further testing her heart function kept decreasing so they decided to transfer her to Gainesville where they specialize in pediatric congenital heart disease. They have begun the process of testing her to see if she’s a candidate for a heart transplant. With all this being said she’s going to be in the hospital for some time and with her not being local her mom basically has to rebuild her life to be local and be at her bedside which comes with expenses such as lodging, meals and gas for the back and forth commute for her other kids she did apply for Ronald McDonald home placement but is currently on the waitlist. My sister is a mother to other children as well, not only does she have her 3 month old hospitalized she has a one year old who can not enter the room. So currently my niece is alone and doesn’t have much of the comfort of her mom, skin to skin, the love and affection etc. this hospital is 2 hours away from my sisters home. She will be waiting 6-9 months for a heart which she will be hospitalized the entire time. Not to mention my sister will have to move there because she will have 2-3 doctor visits a week after transplant. No parent should go through this! I didn’t want to start a go fund me but watching my sister go through this has brought me here. She is having to choose to leave her 3 month in the PICU alone and staying home, working and taking care of her other kids 2 hours away or lose everything and I can’t imagine a mother with a 3 month old with heart failure and these are her options… with financial help this will keep her together with her newborn at the hospital and she can relocate her other children down there and not having to stress about ANYTHING else…. Please help me take at least one thing off her over full plate. Even if you can’t donate a prayer, a share, or a wishing her well is helping in more ways than you know. Thank you in advance
