My best friend Mitzy has gone through so many hardships. She always helped her family in some way, from helping them fill out documents, helping her younger siblings with homework, and was a main communicator for her community. All while basically becoming an independent at 8 years old. She learned a new language, and even took on a third, learning French. She has overcome mental health challenges, thoughts of suicide, yet got the help needed to stay on track with her goals. She finished most of her senior year living on her own and working 3 jobs. Even through all of these obstacles, she has prospered, receiving A’s in school, played sports, was a member of the science olympian team and received a few scholarships. Her hope is to receive an education in medicine, to help others. She is one of the most deserving people I know to be able to receive an education. She will not waste this opportunity to excel, and will not waste a moment to make sure her dreams come true. Unfortunately, due to her circumstances, she has had many major financial hardships. She might not be able to finish her first year at University, due to lack of funds.
