My name is Tessa Archie and I am raising funds for my cousin Mikalia. She is 21 years old and has a newborn baby girl.

Summary: Mikalia was in a coma due to excessive loss of blood and uncontrollable seizures. She is currently unable to move or speak. We are trying to raise funds to have her airlifted to a hospital that is equipped to handle the situation.
Details: Mikalia, a healthy young woman at the time, went into labor in July, 2021. She gave birth to a healthy baby girl, but Mikalia had multiple complications and her health rapidly declined. She was placed in an induced coma due to uncontrollable seizures. It has now been over six weeks and she is only minimally responsive. She can move her eyes and squeeze your hand, but is otherwise unable to move or speak. We believe she can hear, as she will blink or move her eyes when asked to do so, and has a visible emotional reaction when the baby is placed next to her.
The hospital has sent her home as doctors have told us there is nothing else they can do. They have told us she will remain in a vegetative state. At home, she receives oxygen and nourishment through tubes, and is recommended to have a nurse visit her on a daily basis. Unable to afford the nurse, her mother attempts to care for her and her baby, but Mikalia needs expert care to facilitate her recovery. We do believe that recovery is possible for her. We believe the doctors did their best, but did not have the diagnostic equipment or specialized expertise that is available in other countries. We would like to get her to a hospital that has the expertise and technology to help her. At this time, funds are also needed to sustain her life and prevent further deterioration. In summary, we need your help to fund possible air ambulance, hospital fees, cost of the present need to sustain oxygen, medical equipment/supplies, and nursing care at home.
