Hey everyone,
I never thought or ever wanted to be in a position to write something like this, but here we are.
I’m reaching out as a sister who loves mine more than words can express. My big sister Melanie has always been the one who shows up for everyone else, incredibly strong, caring, selfless, and the kind of person who still manages to carry others even when they’re struggling. Right now though, she’s the one who needs that same support.
In the midst of everything, after a very recent mastectomy, she was just unexpectedly let go from her job at the worst possible time. While almost immediately after, she is faced with something even harder as she’s set to begin at least four months of chemotherapy.
To say this has been overwhelming would be an understatement. She’s doing everything she can to stay strong and take one day at a time, especially for her babies, Harper and Owen, but the weight of medical treatments, daily expenses, and now the loss of income is a lot for anyone to carry.
This isn’t just about medical bills, it’s about keeping a roof over their heads, food on the table, and giving her the ability to focus on what truly matters right now which is fighting this battle and healing. She still has a very long road ahead. I wish she didn't even have to worry about any of this or carry the added undue stress. It breaks my heart to see her go through this and I will do anything I can to help alleviate her struggles.
If you’re able to give, no matter how small, it would mean the world to our family. I'm including her cash app and venmo as well if you feel inclined to donate directly immediately. And if you can’t donate, or hop on the meal train, sharing this or keeping her in your thoughts and prayers is just as appreciated. We can use all the good vibes our way.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and for standing beside her during one of the hardest seasons of her life.
With lots of love and appreciation,
The little sister
Amanda
