The MarineBio Conservation Society is a dedicated organization focused on marine biology, ocean science, and conservation. Founded in 1998, MarineBio has grown into a comprehensive online resource serving students, educators, scientists, and ocean enthusiasts around the world.
Our websites provide science-based articles, videos, educational resources, a detailed marine life database, and timely coverage of conservation and climate-related issues. For more than 25 years, this work has been made freely available—without paywalls or institutional backing—in order to promote ocean literacy, stewardship, and a global “sea ethic.”
Today, MarineBio reaches tens of thousands of students each month, serves 50,000+ visitors, and maintains an active presence across 10 social platforms. Operating at this scale comes with essential costs, including hosting, software, and the creation and maintenance of educational and conservation content.
Due to a recent decline in donations and rising infrastructure costs, we now need to raise approximately $5,000 per month to keep MarineBio online and fully operational.
Rather than restrict access, reduce content, or introduce intrusive advertising, we are inviting the community that benefits from MarineBio to help sustain it.
Monthly support is especially helpful, but any contribution makes a difference. Even $2 per month helps ensure this resource remains available, independent, and free for the next generation of learners.
MarineBio has always been a shared resource. If you’ve learned from it, taught with it, or simply enjoyed exploring marine life here, your support helps keep it available for others.
Thank you for being part of that effort.
