Help Keep Madding Crowd Open

Madding Crowd is a dedicated live music venue in the Centre of Bournemouth, that supports and showcases new and upcoming talent as well as big names in the music industry. The venue had to close its doors at the end of 2018 due to not having a legal agreement in place to use a neighbours alley as a means of escape, in case of emergency, even though it had been the route for over 100 years. This meant the capacity was capped at 60, rather than the planned 300. This was missed by the lawyers that were instructed to act on our behalf and has led to considerable financial loss.
The agreement was finally granted and put in place in December 2019 and we were ready for a re-launch in May 2020. May was fully booked with bands, with the rest of the year filling up nicely. Then Covid-19 struck!!
We have had to raise funding of over £300,000 to keep the business afloat.
Now that all of our gigs have had to be postponed, we now need to raise further funding to cover the rent until we can re-open.
The funds are required immediately to help us pay suppliers, the landlord who has given us a slight discount and other costs to keep the business from closing for good. The support of this money would not only help the business remain in a position to launch once we can officially operate again, it would finally give us the support we need to strive forward and achieve what we have set out to achieve at the beginning, we have had a mammoth task to overcome already and we do not think that we can sustain the business during this unprecedented time and then grow it into its full potential.
