Hey folks. Lando, our 15-year-old cat, was diagnosed with aggressive sinonasal adenocarcinoma about six months ago. He’s undergone a course of palliative radiation and is currently on a medication called Palladia, all in an attempt to keep the tumor at bay. In the meantime, he requires follow up every three months with repeat CT scans to know what his cancer is doing and whether we need to modify his treatment plan. Today he went in for his three-month check, and the estimate is steep.
Because we live on an island, vet costs are steeper than they are in many places—but Lando’s team at VCA’s radiation oncology department is worth it! They take amazing care of him, and we trust them completely and know they love him too.
The estimate for today’s treatment was between about $4000 and 5000 dollars, and we’re setting our goal at the high end of that because we will also need to refill his Palladia today and there are still a few outstanding bills from his emergency vet visit earlier this month for a bout of gastritis (which he bounced back from beautifully!). Please don’t feel compelled, but for anyone who wants to help us keep our Beeb with us via the best care money can buy—well, our gratitude knows no bounds.
