My name’s Mike Strong and this is my sister and nephew Kim Strong and her son Brayden. Their world has just been turned upside down abruptly. He recently has been complaining of chest pains, not being able to breathe. So she takes him to the hospital where they originally diagnosed it as pneumonia or bacterial pneumonia. But immediately they come in with heart shattering news telling her that her son’s heart is failing him. And immediately LifeFlight him to Morgantown Children’s Hospital, where they’re running tests and procedures , Draining fluid out of the liner of his lungs adding a picc line and they break earth shattering news that his heart is only working 10% and that they immediately need to life flight him to UPMC Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh immediately so now for the second time in 48 hours he’s life flighted again upon arriving at UPMC Children’s Hospital. They get him in for an emergency surgery to keep him stable and keep his heart pumping until they can find a donor. I know how this is breaking my heart being that this is my sister and my nephew, but I can only imagine the pain that she’s in watching her Only son lie there in a hospital bed with a machine artificially pumping his heart to keep him alive, waiting for a donor heart. And she has been by his side every minute of this process, I’m just trying to find a way to get her the resources that she needs to remain by his side so she doesn’t miss a minute of this precious time with her son, we don’t know where this is going. We can only hope and pray for the best. I just wanna try to lighten her load to help with her and her son’s rent, utilities, travel expenses, food costs etc because she will not be working and they both have a very long road ahead and like any good mother, she refuses to leave his side for anything thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!
