Help Kennedy Stay at Howard University
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kennedy Dowdy and I am a freshman Chemistry major from Chicago, Illinois. Continuing my path at Howard University will help me achieve my dream of becoming a forensic scientist bringing justice to others through applications of science.
This year has taken a toll on me mentally and emotionally as my father was put on disability from work due to a health condition with his heart. Soon he will have to go in for surgery. This was a major setback for us financially. My mother stepped up to help provide for our family, but she can only fund my college expenses so much. She has stretched her paychecks trying to make ends meet and keep us afloat.
I am currently under financial hold for a balance of $9,000. I can not return to Howard University for the spring semester until the balance is paid. I am in dire need of assistance as the hold has to be removed before the new year. I am heartbroken and there is nothing I want more for Christmas than to return to my university. Howard University has been my dream school since 7th grade. I would hate for my college journey to be cut short. I am thriving here and have been exposed to many new people and opportunities. Howard University is my second home and no other institution could come close to filling the void.
All donations will be a help and greatly appreciated. All contributions will go directly to my spring semester balance. I appreciate anyone who donates or spreads the message to anyone who can. Thank you, Happy Holidays and God Bless!
