Hello, my name is Jacob Smith. I’m 18 years old and from Lewes, Delaware. I’m currently a full-time college student on a partial baseball scholarship at Patrick & Henry Community College. Baseball has always been my passion, and I’ve worked hard both on the field and in the classroom to earn the opportunity to play at the college level.
While my scholarship helps cover some of my tuition, it doesn’t come close to covering all of my expenses. I still have to pay out of pocket for rent, food, tuition, and basic living costs. Despite working hard and doing everything I can to make ends meet, the reality is that I just can’t keep up financially.
I don’t have a financial safety net. Without help, I risk losing my spot at school, which would not only endanger my education but also put my dream of continuing baseball at risk. This is my chance to build a better future for myself and, one day, give back to others, but right now, I can’t do it alone.
That’s why I’m reaching out with all the humility and hope I have. Any support, no matter the size, would mean the world to me. A small act of generosity could make the difference between me having to give up my education or continuing to chase my dreams.
If you’re able to help, please know that your kindness will directly change my life. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading, for caring, and for believing in young people like me.
