Help Heatherly Keep Her Home

 

I have not been physically able to work for over three years, despite my efforts to find ways to do so. During those same three years, both tax rates and property values have gone up exponentially in my neighborhood.

Now I need help to pay my property taxes and keep a roof over my head. I've literally been getting by with a little help from my friends, and my gratitude to all of them is deep and heartfelt. 

 

I currently owe $7268.43, half overdue now, half due in January. That amount includes the parcel with the house, and the one for the side yard that hasn't yet been surveyed into the main parcel. It also includes city-mandated sidewalk repairs, which if I'd had cash flow, I would have had done privately for half what the city charged me to do it. I know I'm fortunate to own a home. I want to keep it. 

 

I'm asking to raise a total of $9000 in order to both save my home from tax sale, and to provide a small financial cushion for me this winter while I handle more diagnostics, surgery, and recovery.
