Harmony of Freedom was made possible by people like you — musicians, storytellers, organizers, educators, neighbors — who believed in the power of history, art, and truth. Now, we’re asking for your help once again to ensure this story reaches the widest possible audience.
This moving documentary commemorates the 60th anniversary of the Voting Rights Act through the lens of music, activism, and memory. Featuring the powerful orchestral work Montgomery Variations by Margaret Bonds — a Black female composer and activist — the film weaves together live performance with original interviews from civil rights leaders, historians, and artists. Together, they shine a light on where we’ve been as a nation and where we still need to go.
But the work isn’t over.
With your support, we can:
- Submit Harmony of Freedom to national and international film festivals
- Cover licensing and distribution costs to keep it available on PBS Passport starting in 2026
- Expand our reach through advertising and community screenings
This film has already brought together over 17 orchestras and countless voices from across Atlanta. It’s more than a documentary — it’s a movement. A call to remember, and a call to act.
Together, we can keep the story alive.
Together, we can make change.
